With the brand outside the top tier and existing products perceived as outdated, the challenge was to shift perception from incremental improvement to a complete rethink of surgical system design. Built around the idea of Surgical Flow, Enhanced, the campaign repositioned Vulcan as a surgeon-first system designed around performance, control and intuitive workflow. A minimalist, high-impact creative approach — spanning a hero brand film, sales sheet and brochure — brought the positioning to life with calm confidence and precision, reestablishing VB Spine as a credible and distinctive force in the category.

Challenge
VB Spine needed to re-establish its position within a highly competitive and evolving spine market. Its existing pedicle screw systems were perceived as outdated, lacking the efficiency, ergonomics and cohesion demanded by modern surgical environments. As a result, the business had fallen outside the top tier, with declining share and limited differentiation. The challenge was to relaunch with Vulcan — a next-generation system — and shift perception from incremental improvement to a complete rethink of how surgical systems should support surgeons under pressure.

The creative brought this positioning to life through a minimalist, high-impact visual approach inspired by premium product launches. Centred on calm, confidence and precision, the work avoided technical overload in favour of clear, intentional storytelling. A hero brand film and supporting collateral — including a sales sheet and brochure — showcased the system’s ergonomics, balance and workflow benefits through controlled pacing and refined visuals. The result was a distinctive campaign that reframed Vulcan as a modern, intuitive system designed to work with the surgeon, not against them.
