Challenge
Hill & Smith Infrastructure wanted to stand out at the International Security Expo 2025 by showcasing a range of its Hostile Vehicle Mitigation solutions, while also communicating the value of working with the business from initial consultation through to installation.

Previous exhibition approaches had struggled to convey this strategic value in a busy and fast-paced trade show environment. The challenge was to create an experience that would immediately capture attention, clearly communicate capability and provide an accessible introduction to the brand without relying solely on sales conversations or static materials.

Strategy
The strategy focused on creating a friction-free, self-directed experience that would allow visitors to engage with Hill & Smith’s offering in a clear and meaningful way.

Rather than presenting individual products in isolation, the approach positioned solutions within real-world scenarios. This enabled the business to demonstrate not only product capability but also its role as a strategic partner, supporting customers across the full project lifecycle.

The experience was designed to encourage exploration, increase dwell time and create natural opportunities for more in-depth conversations.

Creative
ArmstrongB2B® developed an interactive “miniworld”, a 3D digital environment that placed Hill & Smith’s HVM solutions into realistic settings, including public realm, airports, festivals and data centres.

Each scenario demonstrated how the systems operate in context, highlighting the flexibility of both temporary and permanent solutions. Carefully selected environments and product combinations reinforced the breadth of the offering and the value the business brings to long-term partnerships.

A touchscreen interface positioned at the front of the stand allowed visitors to explore the environment at their own pace. Users could interact with products, view detailed renders and access deeper technical information via QR codes.

The result was an intuitive and immersive experience that reduced barriers to engagement, allowing visitors to quickly understand the offering without the need for printed collateral or immediate sales interaction.

Results
The installation attracted consistent footfall and significantly increased the time visitors spent at the stand.

It acted as a strong conversation starter, leading to more meaningful discussions around partnership opportunities and solution requirements. Many visitors engaged further by scanning QR codes to access additional product information.

The project also strengthened Hill & Smith Infrastructure’s reputation for innovation. The “miniworld” has since been adapted for use on the company’s website, with the flexibility to incorporate additional products over time, extending its value well beyond the exhibition.
