ECM Video
Progress Rail partnered with ArmstrongB2B® to produce a filmed case study showcasing a major signalling project completed across the northern Italy rail network. Shot on location, the film captured real infrastructure, environments and operations — translating complex signalling technology into a clear and credible story.
The content was built around Progress Rail’s key capabilities, from centralised control systems to on-track implementation, and structured to engage both engineering and commercial audiences at international trade shows.
The result was a compelling, reusable content asset that demonstrated real-world expertise, built trust with global audiences, and supported Progress Rail’s ambition to expand into new markets and sectors.
Challenge
Progress Rail, a Caterpillar company, delivers advanced railway signalling and infrastructure solutions to improve safety, efficiency and network performance. With a major signalling project completed in northern Italy, the challenge was to showcase its signalling control and monitoring capabilities in a way that would resonate with global audiences and support expansion into new markets.

Strategy
Our strategy centred on using real-world proof to build credibility. Rather than relying on technical specifications alone, we anchored the story in a completed project — giving international audiences something tangible to connect with.
By filming on location across the northern Italy rail network, we were able to ground Progress Rail’s capabilities in authentic environments and real operations. The content was shaped for trade show audiences, where building trust quickly and demonstrating sector expertise are critical to opening new commercial conversations.

Creative
The solution was a filmed case study produced on location across the northern Italy rail network. The film captured real infrastructure, environments and operations — from centralised control rooms to on-track implementation — giving the audience a direct view of Progress Rail’s signalling capabilities in action.
Complex technology was translated into a clear, credible narrative, with the structure guiding viewers through the scope of the project and the impact of the solutions delivered. The production balanced technical depth with visual accessibility, ensuring the content could engage both engineering and commercial decision makers.
The film was designed for international trade show use, with a format and tone that would travel across markets and support Progress Rail’s presence at major global exhibitions.
